Face to Face

Why do young people decide from north and south of Portugal to face death in the arena instead of devoting themselves to boxing, paragliding or surfing? There is a wild youth that defies life in search of adrenaline, but they don't do it on their own. Unlike bullfighters, they do it in a group with rules and disciplines imposed on everyone. It's a sport, but it's mainly a cultural manifestation that links Portugal and Mexico, the only countries where men on foot defy the bull with their bravery alone: the pitchforks.
