Portugal

There is a saint in Portugal who has nothing to do with Catholicism. His name is Dr. Sousa Martins. Born in 1843, this doctor, in spite of his struggles to remain a man of science, has become the object of a deep religious cult, a popular cult practiced outside of any church or conventions. The statue erected in his memory in the center of Lisbon is the starting point of a journey, both personal and anthropological, that leads us to question our need for belief and its relation with healing.
