Joaquina

Alto Alentejo, somewhere in the 20th century. On a cloudy afternoon, a gunshot echoes across the isolated property of a wealthy family. Hearing him, little Joaquina runs away from her maid Tomásia and crosses the stream that separates the property from the rest of the plain. Next to a tree, the girl finds a fox killed by two hunters who work for her family. Curiosity, triggered by the first contact with death, shakes Joaquina's apparent innocence.
