Portugal
Between Lisbon and Estoril, in the lobbies and bars of hotels such as the luxurious Hotel Palácio or the Hotel Atlântico, spies from the main belligerent parties circulated during World War II. While the rest of Europe was under fire, Portugal was “free land” for spy services. These novelistic stories have included the plan to kidnap the Dukes of Windsor, but the escape route of persecuted Jews from Europe, the sale of wolfram to the belligerent parties, the Shell network and the number of double agents raise questions about the true dimension of Portugal's interference during the Second World War. Between myths and realities we have a documentary that will bring an original synthesis about Portugal's role in this spy game.
