Portugal

Fernanda do Vale, a black influential woman at the beginning of the 20th century, is the charismatic, sly and ambitious owner of a brothel in Lisbon. In exchange of luxury, sex and affection, journalists, artists, intellectuals and men of power leave government secrets at number 61 of Rua do Mundo. Fernanda and her protector, the black ex-boxer Amalhou, become two unusual pawns in a city torn between Republicans and Monarchists. Together, they have the power to influence politics, but that’s not enough for them. As both were victims of racism, they work to find the names of the families that were enriched by the slave trade and hunt them down.
